Wednesday April 5th: Passover begins on Wednesday evening, and New Jerusalem House of Prayer, located in the Wheaton Christian Center building (610 E North Ave in Carol Stream) will be hosting a Christian Passover Seder meal and potluck. The service starts at 7:00 PM. If you would like to attend, please contact Rebecca at: rebecca@newjerusalem.net and tell her how many will be attending with you. They request that no pork or shellfish dishes be brought.
Maundy Thursday, April 6th: Great Shepherd will be hosting a “Come and Go Stations of the Cross” event. We will have materials available to guide you through this experience. There will also be places available for personal prayer and meditation. The Ministry Center will be open from 6:30 PM until 8:30 PM.
Good Friday, April 7th : Great Shepherd will having a “traditional” Good Friday service with Scripture readings, prayers, a time for venerating the Cross, and a short Eucharist. The service will run from 7:00 PM until 8:15
Holy Saturday, April 8th: Great Shepherd will not be holding an Easter Vigil Service this year. If you are interested in attending one, we suggest attending the Vigil at our sister parish, All Souls Anglican Church in Wheaton (25W741 Jewell Road). The service goes from 7:30 PM until 9:00 PM.
Easter Morning Worship, April 9th: Our Easter morning celebration will begin at 10:00. Please bring bells with you to use in the service. Following worship there will be an Easter Egg Hunt for the younger children. We will also have coffee, other beverages, and donut holes (a tradition from the early days of Great Shepherd) after the worship service.
